Broken Top House

Located on a nearly level site at Brokentop Golf Course, the client’s had one specific instruction: Design the home for simple, easy living, low maintenance, and plenty of amenities for their family, including two of the four legged variety.

The site is somewhat more private than many golf course settings but still affords expansive views of the fairway from the rear of the lot. With the privacy of the setting, the bulk of the exterior walls of the home are glass. A large covered patio area, BBQ, firepit, and water feature provide outdoor entertaining space that can be used for much of the winter, most of the spring and all of the summer and fall seasons of the year.

The interior includes three-bedroom suites, large working office, dining room plus nook, great room featuring a chef’s kitchen, an eating bar for up to six hungry eaters, big laundry room plus a “man’s best friend” room including a full sized walk-in shower designed for the four legged members of the family.

The home is designed specifically to have no steps; the garage, patios, master shower, entry doors and service entries are all on one level.

The exterior doors feature the Artisan Homes granite sill water management system that eliminates most maintenance of door sills plus requires only one ¾” rise in the floor level from garage and exterior door openings to interior floor. The exterior of the home features Natural Stone Veneer, shake tile roof, an abundance of large fir timber beams and columns, cedar siding and concrete pavers for driveway, patios and walks.

This home was the Artisan Homes Showcase Home of the year in 2013 and was open to the public in July of that year.
